25 years Aeschylus

 

In 2027 Aischylos will celebrate its 25th anniversary. Starting with just one participating school, around 35 pupils performed the tragedy *Agamemnon* by the Greek tragedian Aeschylus. Now, 25 years later, we have staged 16 tragedies, 24 schools from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Greece have taken part in the project, and we have organised 4 summer projects in Pylos, Greece.

In this anniversary year, we are taking on the challenge of staging Aeschylus’s *Oresteia*. Our director, Jeroen Tessers, has woven the core elements of this three-part tragedy into a single performance lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Five schools from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany will participate. The rehearsals will start in November. We invite you to attend one of the performances in January 2027.
